Interpretive guided hikes in the Rocky Mountains
Bear Country Guiding & Consulting provides a wide variety of interpretive guided hikes, from easy trough medium to more strenuous day hikes in Kananaskis Country (a group of various Provincial Parks in Alberta) as well as in Banff, Yoho and Kootenay National Parks in Alberta and British Columbia. These mountains provide world class alpine/subalpine hiking opportunities due to their beauty, extension and well maintained trail systems.
Our mission is to provide people an unforgettable experience in the Canadian Rockies. Although we focus on wildlife, the mountains are the essential base for our adventures. Together with their vegetation cover they also create a home for wild animals. Thus, it is essential to interpret all of these three components simultaneously.
We are based in Calgary, so those who come to our tours from Calgary have an additional convenience in regards of transportation.

“Tibor took us on trails to explore. The day was sunny while the scenery and mountains were beautiful. We followed the trail along the beach of the lake. Tibor was so kind to point out hazards such as tree roots, loose rocks, etc., and he was on alert for any possible bear encounter. Tibor is very knowledgeable about wildlife, and we learned much from him. He has a big heart for animals. Tibor picked a very nice lakefront spot for a snack. Very scenic! We really enjoyed the chat with him! We had a very relaxing “ Zen” day on the trails, with no worries at all [fear of getting lost]! Next time we are in Calgary, I would not hesitate to call up Tibor for another hike to explore more of the Kananaskis/Banff area!”
